Iranian Assets Seized, Sold To Compensate Victims Of Terrorist Attacks

Iranian assets in Canada have been seized and the proceeds from their sale distributed to victims of terrorist attacks, reports Global News (Toronto).

Documents filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Aug. 7 show that Iranian government properties in Ottawa and Toronto were sold for Can$28 million (US$21 million).

Proceeds were given to survivors of terrorist attacks and the families of victims of attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas, which receive funding from Tehran.
