A suicide bomber struck an Afghan intelligence office in Khost province on Thursday, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reports.
Three or four armed men wearing army uniforms attacked the base after the explosion, said the deputy provincial governor.
One policeman was killed in the attack, security officials said.
A spokesman for the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, calling Afghan intelligence "slaves working for the puppet government."
