Japanese peacekeepers have started to leave South Sudan after ending their five-year participation with the United Nations mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), reports the Kyodo News Agency (Tokyo).
The first group of 68 Japanese troops was due to leave Monday from Juba, the capital, said a spokesman for the mission.
Others will follow in three batches. All are expected to be home by the end of May.
