The U.S. has reached a tentative framework for a possible peace agreement with the Taliban, reports Reuters.
Under the draft agreement, U.S. forces would leave Afghanistan 18 months after the signing of an accord, Taliban representatives said on Saturday. U.S. officials said that no timeline had been discussed.
The militant group would also have a role in an interim government following the imposition of a cease-fire, said Taliban leaders.
