Indigenous Air Defense System Launched From UAV

A senior military official says Iran has successfully test-fired a new domestically built air defense system during this week's air defense drills, reports Press TV.
Known as the Mersad (Ambush), the weapon is a modern, medium-range system capable of identifying and engaging advanced aircraft at low and high altitudes, according to a military spokesman.
The system was said to have been launched from a drone aircraft, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.
