Paraguay has a new president. Former Vice President Federico Franco was sworn in Friday after his predecessor was impeached and removed from office.
The Senate impeached President Fernando Lugo last week and quickly replaced him, reports the Press Association (U.K.).
The move apparently followed constitutional procedures, but its speedy implementation led to an international reaction, noted CNN.
