Illustrious Carrier Completes Refit, Begins Trials

The British navy's aircraft carrier Illustrious has just completed a 16-month docking period, reports Babcock International, which performed the work.

Improvements include the installation of the Defense Information Infrastructure, which enables information-sharing and collaboration across a defense network; the Bowman communication system; and surface ship torpedo defense system, said company officials.
