The British Royal Navy has decided on the name for the icebreaker that will replace the damaged HMS Endurance, reports the Portsmouth News (U.K.).
The navy has released a commercial tender for an icebreaker to replace the Endurance, which was damaged in an incident in the South Atlantic in December 2008.
The new ship, to be named Protector, will be based in Portsmouth to perform the same missions as the Endurance, said a spokeswoman.
