A planned test of an intercontinental ballistic missile was aborted shortly before launch, reports the Air Force Global Strike Command.
On Wednesday, the unarmed Minuteman III missile was scheduled to be test-fired from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
However, during the final countdown, the missile computer detected an issue in the sequence of checks made prior to launch and shut itself down, as it is designed to do, a command spokeswoman told the Air Force Times.
