Hydrogen-Powered ScanEagle Makes Initial Flight

Bingen, Wash.-based Insitu has announced that its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system successfully completed its first hydrogen-powered fuel cell flight.
The drone aircraft flew for 2.5 hours, according to a company release on Thursday.
The effort is a collaboration involving Insitu, the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and United Technologies (UTC), said officials.
The NRL provided the hydrogen-fueling solution, while UTC made the fuel cell, said an Insitu release.
