Huntington Ingalls Launches 9th National Security Cutter

Huntington Ingalls Industries has launched the ninth national security cutter for the U.S. Coast Guard, reports the service.
The Stone was put into the water on Oct. 4 at the Huntington Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss., said a Coast Guard release on Oct. 9.
Plans call for the cutter to be commissioned in 2021.
The ship honors Coast Guard aviator Cmdr. Elmer Fowler Stone, who in May 1919 became the first person to fly across the Atlantic.
