Hundreds Of Armored Vehicles Ordered For Afghan Army

The U.S. Army has awarded Textron Marine & Land Systems a contract to manufacture armored vehicles for the Afghan army, reports the New Orleans-based defense firm.

The deal, worth up to US$257 million, covers as many as 440 medium armored security vehicles (MASV) in nine configurations. The MASV is derived from Textron's M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV) and ASV armored personnel carrier.
