A Ticonderoga-class cruiser has begun a modernization program designed to extend the ship's service life and enhance its capabilities, reports the Naval Air Systems Command.
The Hue City (CG-66) began the upgrade in September. It is expected to extend the ship's service life to 35 years and enhance her land attack, littoral undersea warfare, force protection, and air and ballistic missile defense capabilities.
