Shi'ite rebels were accused of opening fire on a Yemeni military plane flying over the city of Saada on Thursday, said government officials.
The officials said the rebels violated the terms of a truce with the government, Reuters reports.
The plane, which carrying military and government officials, was not hit, according to state media.
The Antonov aircraft routinely transports officials to the province, according to a member of the committee overseeing the truce.
