The U.S. House of Representatives has voted to repeal the 2002 authorization for use of military force (AUMF) in Iraq, reports CBS News.
On Thursday, the House voted 268 to 161 to repeal the measure, with 49 Republicans joining Democrats in support. One Democrat voted against the measure.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has pledged to hold a vote in the Senate on repealing the AUMF this year. The repeal is also supported by the White House.
