Hostage In Kano Killed During Raid

A German man held hostage has been killed in Nigeria during a military raid, reports Agence France-Presse.

Edgar Raupach was kidnapped in January and held by Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) militants, said security officials.

On Thursday, security forces conducted a raid in the northern city of Kano based on intelligence that "senior commanders of the terrorist elements" were meeting, according to a military statement.
