Hostage, Being Held By Rebels, Escapes Into Jungle After Wounding 5 ELN Fighters

The ELN guerrilla group in Colombia says a hostage they were holding for ransom has escaped his captors, according to Colombia Reports.

Voxkanya Arcen Levoni, a Russian-Armenian wildlife trafficker, was kidnapped about six months ago, reported the BBC.

The 42-year-old Russian citizen escaped on April 19 in Baj Baudo, then seized one of his captor's guns and wounded five, said an ELN statement on Sunday.
