Home Secretary Calls For Naval Patrols Of Channel To Deter Migrants

British Home Secretary Sajid Javid has requested that naval vessels patrol the English Channel to deter illegal migrant crossings, reports Sky News.
The defense ministry said on Thursday that the offshore patrol vessel HMS Mersey was available for such missions.
The two ministries have not yet agreed who would be responsible for the 20,000 pound (US$25,000) a day bill for the patrols, reported the Daily Telegraph (London).
