A regional Hizbul Islam group in Somalia has merged with Al-Shabaab, the largest militant group in the war-torn country, reports the Daily Nation (Kenya).
Sheikh Abdulkadir Haji Ahmed, the chief of Hizbul Islam's mobilization office in Beledweyne, capital of the Hiran region, said his group had decided to join Al-Shabaab.
The chief also called on other Islamists to unite with Al-Shabaab.
