HII Expands Production of ROMULUS Unmanned Surface Vessels

On Aug. 25, 2026, HII announced that Halimar Shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana, joined its manufacturing network to support the construction of ROMULUS 151 unmanned surface vessels for the U.S. Navy.

Having joined the network in July 2026 alongside regional partners Breaux Brothers Enterprises and Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing, Halimar uses local fabrication services such as metal cutting, bending, welding, and structural assembly to streamline production and prevent delays.

The artificial intelligence-enabled ROMULUS 151 is engineered for multi-mission operations, including surveillance and strike missions.
