Heron UAVs Leased From Israel For Afghan Duty

Germany's arms-procurement agency BWB has signed a contract with Rheinmetall Defense to provide the army with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, reports the German defense firm.
Under the multi-million-euro contract, Rheinmetall and Israel Aerospace Industries will provide the German army with the Heron UAV system for one year, with an option for a two-year extension.
