Yemeni officials say clashes in the southern part of the country have resulted in the deaths of 30 people, reports Agence France-Presse.
Most of those killed were said to be militants.
Five rebel fighters died following a Thursday airstrike outside of Jaar, which is controlled by Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), officials said.
