A senior leader in the Islamic State's self-declared police force has been beheaded in Syria, says a monitoring group cited by Reuters.
The Islamic State, also called ISIS, has carried out numerous beheadings in its recent operations in Syria and Iraq.
The man was found near a power plant in the eastern Syrian city of al-Mayadeen in Deir-al-Zor province, said the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Tuesday.
