The chief of staff of the Moldovan armed forces has tendered his resignation, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
Gen. Ion Coropcean has served as chief of staff since 1998.
The president must approve his resignation before it takes effect.
The general's resignation reportedly stemmed from disagreements with newly appointed Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta.
