Hawley Threatens To Delay Defense, State Nominees

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has threatened to delay the Biden administration’s nominees for posts in the State Dept. and Pentagon over its handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, reports Defense News.
In a floor speech on Tuesday, the senator said he would place a hold on every civilian nominee to State and DoD unless Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin resigned from their posts, reported CNN.
