Mozambican security forces say they have killed the leader of a hardline rebel faction of the Mozambique National Resistance (Renamo), the main opposition party, reports the East African (Nairobi).
On Monday morning, security forces killed Mariano Nhongo during intense fighting in the forests in the central Sofala province.
One of Nhongo’s collaborators, Ngau Kama, was also killed, security officials said.
Nhongo led a hardline faction of Renamo and refused to lay down his arms...
