The Haqqani network has not carried out a major attack in Kabul in seven months after a series of U.S. special operations raids targeting bomb makers and logisticians, the New York Times reports.
Nevertheless, the network remains the most formidable enemy that U.S. troops face in Afghanistan, U.S. officials said.
The group appears to be adapting to U.S. tactics and is shifting its combatants to counter the allied strategy, U.S. military officials said.
