Hanwha Systems in South Korea has kicked off initial production of a new air defense command-and-control system for the South Korean military, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
The Command Control and Alert (C2A) system is designed to reduce the amount of time needed to detect and respond to a hostile target from up to 3 minutes to 30 seconds.
The existing system uses radios to disseminate air threat data to relevant units.
