A top Hamas official has provided figures on the group's losses during Israel's incursion into the Gaza Strip in 2008 and 2009, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Interior Minister Fathi Hammad said in an interview with the London-based Arab newspaper Al-Hayat that 250 Hamas-linked militants died on the first day. He said about 200 to 300 members of the Qassam Brigades died, as well as 150 security personnel.
