Israel has been hit by at least nine rockets fired from the Gaza Strip after a Hamas truce offer, reports CNN.
Eight rockets hit open areas in southern Israel overnight; a ninth was intercepted by the Iron Dome, a military spokesman said Thursday.
On its website, the military wing of Hamas -- the Al-Qassam Brigades -- admitted to firing eight rockets just before midnight on Wednesday; another independent group said it fired one rocket at about 12:45 a.m. local time.
