Reversing their previous assertions, Pakistani intelligence officials say Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud survived a U.S. drone strike in January, the BBC reports.
Mehsud was widely reported to have been killed in mid-January along with 10 militants in the North Waziristan attack.
The Taliban leader is now believed to have been merely wounded in the strike, said officials.
The unnamed officials speculated that Mehsud's authority has diminished, with other Taliban commanders...
