Haiti Peacekeeping Plan Passes Muster In Parliament

The foreign affairs committee in the South Korean legislature has approved a government plan to send peacekeepers to Haiti to aid in its reconstruction following the massive earthquake, reports the Yonhap News Agency (Seoul).
The 240-strong peacekeeping mission, including 120 military engineers and 22 medics, is expected to be based in Leogane, about 25 miles (40 km) west of Port-au-Prince, until the end of the year, according to the Foreign Ministry.
