A senior submariner has gotten the nod to become the U.S. Navy's next chief of naval operations (CNO), according to Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
President Obama interviewed Adm. Jonathan Greenert, the vice chief of naval operations, last week, reports Defense News. Sources said he made a favorable impression.
