Green Bay Amphib Becomes Latest Ship Bound For Japan

The U.S. Navy has shifted another warship to Japan to join the 7th Fleet's forward-deployed force, reports the Navy Times.

The Green Bay amphibious transport dock departed San Diego on Monday for Sasebo. She will join the Bonhomme Richard amphibious ready group, which includes the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The amphibious ship started a year-long dry dock refit in 2013 to prepare for service in the Pacific.
