Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has rejected a request to to extradite a guerrilla leader to the United States, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
On Thursday, Santos stopped the extradition of Wigberto Tomas Chammaro, also known as Jairo, after the Supreme Court denied the request.
Chamarro has been wanted for extradition by a court in the District of Columbia since 2007. He was captured last year in Colombia and charged with kidnapping a U.S. citizen.
