Government Sets Plans For Arctic Frontier Posts

The Russian government says it expects to set up at least 20 border guard posts in the Arctic over the next decade, reports Interfax-AVN.
Twenty posts will be established, each manned by 15-20 personnel who will monitor the region and conduct search-and-rescue operations, said Vladimir Pronichev, the head of the border service, as cited by the Izvestia newspaper.
