A government spokesman in the Democratic Republic of Congo says at least 200 mutinous troops have been killed since April in fighting in the eastern part of the country, reports Agence France-Presse.
The first official government report, released Wednesday, indicated that 40 army personnel have been killed.
Another 250 mutineers and 93 government troops have been wounded, says the report.
The rebels are Congolese Tutsis who joined the army under a March 2009 peace deal....
