Government Promises Long-Term Help To Afghanistan, Makes NATO Agreement

The Australian government says it will support Afghan security forces beyond 2014, when coalition combat troops are scheduled to withdraw from Afghanistan, reports CNN.
"Afghanistan will be a central to our focus for our partnership [with NATO] for some time to come," Prime Minister Julia Gillard said on Thursday in Canberra.
She indicated, without details, that Australia will assist with training and resources.
