Officials in the Burmese government have been conducting high-level peace talks with separatist Karen rebels, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
Government officials told reporters that delegates from the political and armed wings of the Karen National Union (KNU) met with government officials last Friday.
Preliminary negotiations covered codes of conduct for troops on both sides, said Burma's Immigration Minister Khin Yi.
