The South Korean government says it is trying to improve its ties with China, reports the Christian Science Monitor.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade just announced it is increasing its China-related budget from US$340,000 to US$2.6 million next year.
The effort follows recent attacks and other provocations by North Korea and is intended to demonstrate Seoul's willingness to talk, according to officials.
