Government Forces Kill Onetime Guerrilla Leader Mauk Moruk

A former East Timor guerrilla leader has been killed in a fight with soldiers and police, reports Agence France Presse.
Mauk Moruk was killed Saturday during a joint police and military operation in the town of Fatulia in Harare province, said a government spokesman.
"Every effort was made during the operation to avoid this outcome," he said.
Two others were killed and several were injured, said the spokesman, without identifying who they were.
