Government Forces Kick Off Offensive To Take Hawija From ISIS

Iraq's prime minister says government forces have begun an offensive to retake the Islamic State-held town of Hawija, reports the BBC.
The offensive began at dawn on Thursday, announced Prime Minister Hader al-Abadi. Hawija is located 135 miles north of Baghdad in Kirkuk province.
The operation involves the army, federal police, rapid response forces and the Shi'ite Popular Mobilization militia.
