The Chinese government has denied reports that it is laying fiber-optic cables along its disputed border with India, reports Reuters.
On Monday, two Indian officials told the news service that Chinese troops had been spotted laying cables south of Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh.
Similar cables were laid on the north side of the lake a month ago, Indian officials said.
The cables would give Chinese troops the ability to rapidly and securely communicate with rear bases.
