A Turkish defense committee has authorized initial production for a new domestically designed light attack and trainer jet, reports the Anadolu Agency (Ankara).
On Wednesday, the Defense Industry Executive Committee approved the first phase of series production for the Hurjet aircraft, according to a government release.
The Hurjet project was launched in 2017 to develop a fifth-generation training aircraft to replace the Turkish air force’s aging T-38 trainer jets.
