Iraq—Government Approves Expansion Of Iran-Backed Militias

The Iraqi government has authorized an increase in the size of a coalition of militias, many with ties to Iran, reports the New Arab (U.K.). A source close to Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi told the news site that the government was poised to expand the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) militia by about 30,000 fighters.
