The Thai government has approved the defense budget proposal for 2020, which includes a 2.7 percent increase over the 2019 budget, reports Forecast International (Conn.). Under the budget, defense spending would increase by approximately US$200 million to US$7.6 billion. The increase will boost military funding to 7 percent of government spending, up from 6.2 percent in 2019.
