The Indian government has decided to establish scores of additional coastal police stations in nine maritime states, reports the Press Trust of India.
New Delhi has already approved the establishment of 96 new stations under the first phase of the program.
The second phase will include the construction of another 131 facilities, said Vice Adm. Anil Chopra, the coast guard chief.
