A government offensive in southern Yemen against Islamist insurgents has entered its fourth day, Reuters reports.
Three airstrikes on Thursday by Yemeni warplanes killed at least six fighters from Ansar al-Sharia near the town of Lawdar, said residents and officials.
One strike hit an army tank that had been seized by the militants on Monday, the sources said. Two other strikes were reportedly made on militant-held positions.
