The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) says it has received assurances from Mali's new president that a planned democratic transition will proceed, reports Agence France-Presse.
On Wednesday, senior ECOWAS officials visited Bamako, the capital, a day after Col. Assimi Goita was sworn in as president.
