The Canadian military has decided to cut back its recruiting staff as it nears its end-strength goals, reports the Canwest News Service.
The military's recruiting department has been ordered to cut its budget by Can$6 million (US$5.9 million) by next year, according to defense officials.
About 60 to 70 recruiters are likely to be eliminated, with most recruiting efforts to be concentrated in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, said unnamed defense sources.
